Services/E-Invoicing
E-Invoicing
Compliance
We make businesses e-invoicing compliant before the mandate hits — the requirements defined by chartered accountants, the integration built by engineers, and the whole thing already proven in the Gulf's most demanding regime.
Saudi Arabia
Fatoorah · ZATCA · clearance
Oman
Fawtara · OTA · Peppol
E-invoicing isn't only an IT integration — it's a tax and finance requirement. VAT treatment, clearance rules and audit trails all have to be right, not just the code. So we lead with chartered accountants and build with engineers — one team that gets both sides right.
ZATCA e-invoicing (Fatoorah)
Saudi Arabia runs the most mature e-invoicing regime in the Gulf. Under the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), every VAT-registered business must issue, clear and store invoices electronically in a strict technical format. It rolled out in two phases — and it's the standard other GCC countries are now modelling.
What the law requires
Phase 1 · Generation — since Dec 2021
Structured invoices, no more PDFs
Invoices must be generated and stored electronically in a structured format by a compliant solution. Simplified (B2C) invoices must carry a QR code. Handwritten and image-only invoices are no longer valid.
Phase 2 · Integration — since Jan 2023, in waves
Direct integration with ZATCA
Your solution must connect to ZATCA's Fatoora platform. Standard (B2B/B2G) invoices are cleared in real time before you send them; simplified (B2C) invoices are reported within 24 hours. ZATCA onboards businesses wave by wave, by revenue.
The technical bar — and how Zalto clears it
Compliant XML
Generates invoices in ZATCA's required UBL 2.1 XML structure, validated before submission.
Real-time clearance
Submits standard invoices to Fatoora for clearance and handles B2C reporting inside the 24-hour window.
Cryptographic stamp
Applies the cryptographic stamp, UUID and QR code exactly as the regulation demands.
Tamper-proof hash chain
Maintains the previous-invoice-hash (PIH) chain so the ledger is provably unaltered.
Connects your systems
Links your ERP or POS to ZATCA, so compliance runs in the background of how you already work.
Archive & audit trail
Securely stores every cleared invoice with a full, retrievable audit trail for inspections.
Fawtara (Oman Tax Authority)
Oman is next. In January 2026 the Oman Tax Authority (OTA) was approved as a Peppol Authority — making Oman the third GCC country to mandate e-invoicing after Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The system, Fawtara, is built on the Peppol network, and its first mandatory phase begins in August 2026. The businesses that prepare now will clear the deadline calmly; the rest will scramble.
What's coming
The model
You can't file it yourself
Oman doesn't let businesses send invoices straight to the tax authority. Every invoice must pass through an OTA-accredited service provider on the national (Peppol) network. Choosing and integrating with the right accredited partner is the first real decision — and where we come in.
The gatekeeper
Accredited Service Providers only
You can't simply plug into Fawtara. Invoices must flow through an OTA-Accredited Service Provider (ASP). Choosing and integrating with the right ASP is the single most important early decision.
The format
PINT-OM (UBL 2.1)
Oman uses the Peppol International invoice specification, localised as PINT-OM, in UBL 2.1 — structurally close to what we already implement for ZATCA, which shortens your path.
The timeline
Phased from Aug 2026
Phase 1 starts with large taxpayers in August 2026, with the mandate extending in waves through 2028 to cover the wider market. Your wave date sets your real deadline.
How Taqaan gets you ready
Readiness assessment
We map your invoices, systems and books against OTA requirements and identify exactly what has to change.
ASP integration
We guide the accredited-provider decision and build the integration, so your invoices flow correctly across the Peppol network.
PINT-OM on your ERP
We implement the PINT-OM format on ERPNext, SAP or your existing system — reusing what we've proven in KSA.
Go live before your wave
We take you live and validate real transactions ahead of your deadline — not on the day of it.
Ongoing monitoring
We stay on to keep you compliant as later phases and rule changes arrive through 2028.
One finance-fluent team
Chartered accountants define the treatment; engineers build it — so compliance holds up to an audit.
